Newly Rice Strain, Boyu 175, was successfully selected and
cultivated by Agriculture Institute of Yu Lin Prefecture,
Guangxi, through cross-fertilizing Po A and Yu 175 Strain,
a new later- ripen rice strain of Guangxi 85 program outcome.
Experiment from 1991 to 1993 showed the yield per Mu reached
461.4 kg, 512.9kg, 473.2kg and 448.4 kg, judged as selected
strain. In 1997, it passed the provincial assessment and submitted
to national experiment. From 1992 to 1997 the average yield
per Mu of 3.91 million Mu could reach 500kg, with highest
of 790.61 kg, increasing 55.5 kg per Mu and 206 million kg
totally, totalizing 357 million Yuan. The technique leads
ahead of later- ripen rice strain in Guangxi and acts as key
strain in Yu Lin producing 1 Ton rice per Mu. The strain could
ripen for 122 days with high quality, strong resistance. It
is suitable to be planted in south Guangxi and midlle GuangDong
